Periscope Pitch
Come help celebrate the entrepreneurs graduating from Periscope: Artist Entrepreneur Training 2018! On September 5, join us at OZ Arts to view the work of all 20 of this year's participants, while select artist entrepreneurs from the class will take the stage to pitch their creative business concepts to the community. A panel of all-star judges will provide insights along the way, and the audience will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite pitches.

We Are Tennessee Exhibit Opening
We Are Tennessee is an exhibit exploring concepts of our state’s cultural identity and what it means to be a Tennessean.
ABOUT THIS PROJECT
Diversity encompasses all those differences that make us unique: race, color, ethnicity, language, nationality, sexual orientation, religion, gender, socio-economic status, age, and physical and mental ability. We Are Tennessee celebrates the diversity of the Volunteer State.
SELECTION PROCESS
Discovery Center put out a call to artists to submit work exploring the theme of diversity through the people of Tennessee. Artists were allowed to interpret the idea of identity in their own terms. The museum received 111 entries by 56 different artists! The Murfreesboro Cultural Arts 2018 Laureates, along with Discovery Center, selected the final entries based on artistic merit and diverse representation.
